Idea #13: Visual Guides in the Sequencer Image Preview

Written by bunny the 17 Aug 10 at 00:22. Category: Sequencer. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
There is a lack of visual indicators in the Sequencer Image Preview. The visual indicators available in the Camera view would be helpful in the Sequencer.

Solution #1: Optional Visual Guides in Sequencer Image Preview
Written by bunny the 17 Aug 10 at 00:22.
Togglable indicators of the frame, safe area, etc. like there are in Camera Properties could be made available for the Sequencer Image Preview.

Solution #2: + Grid
Written by ciriaco the 19 Aug 10 at 02:49.
Can also add a grid as in the 3D view (customizing horizontal and vertical lines). With optional snap.

Safe area is actually there, just use [Menu]->[View]->[Safe Margin]

however, more information in the Sequencer Image Preview would be usefull

It could be interesting to have something like 2D editors' guides used like spatial markers in Camera View or Sequencer Preview.
