Idea #369: Blender 2.58 on Windows 2000 please...

Rationale
I have been using Blender 2.49 without any issues on Windows 2000 ... thus far since the upgrade to 2.58, I can no longer run Blender on Windows 2000. Can somebody do a build for Windows 2000?

I am assuming the latest builds have abandoned Windows 2000 ... the first alpha versions of Blender 2.5 DID run on Windows 2000 until the new Blender was finalized, now it does not run on Windows 2000.

Sorry to say but windows 2000 is very outdated, try upgrading to windows xp or higher, also linux has many versions that work on older machines.
However give FreeBSD aswell a try its very stable and powerfull which works on old machines aswell.

Dude that O.S. is way too old its architecture has long since been abandoned. I think its time to upgrade your machine, if your machine can't deal with a windows 7 or linux alternative upgrade then I think its time to get a more powerful machine as 3d design needs a modern machine to process complex scenes
