Problem Statement: There is little to no solid information about who is downloading Blender. What there needs are or what they would like to learn or how they learn.
A simple registration system would build a demographic database that would solve the Problem. I have made a suggestion on Blendestorm for this. Please vote for it!
The registration process could also create a BlenderArtists, BlenderNation, BlenderStorm, eofw Blender Benchmark, and Bug Tracker user ID (the generic shared ID), so that they would become part of the community, and give us some percentages that might help us make some of the people happy some of the time. Information that might be helpful is:
Age
Native Language
Time Zone
English Proficiency
Blender Benchmark
Internet connection speed
Proficiencies (scale 1-10, with examples of what is 1 and what is 10)
General Computer Use
Python Language programming
C/C## programming
3D Modeling and Sculpting
Painting, Texturing, Materials
Animation
Compositing and Post Pro
Whether they would like to contribute Scripts, Code, and/or Wiki Doco
Competitive Packages used, and proficiency in those packages
