Shortcut to Viewport rotation options
Written by Prodeous the 9 Nov 08 at 02:14. Category: Preferences. New
Originally wanted to add an idea to add function like "Around Selection" bust since I just found out it exists, the new idea is to have a shortcut to at least the "Around Selection".

Generally this is quite useful but when I'm in object mode and the object is quite huge it rotates on its pivot, which in most cases is outside of the viewport. I have to quickly change to edit mode and select an area, for this function to rotate more where I desire.

The ability to turn it on and off via a hot key would be welcomed.

Also, there was a "turntable"/"trackball" default question with one of the ideas. Providing a shortcut to this would also help, as its sometimes advantageous to use both modes.

Show preference header per default in default b.blend file
Written by musk the 17 Jul 08 at 14:11. Category: Preferences. New
A lot of times people complain that blender behaves different then most other apps. And with a few of these arguments there is a option which has to be activated or deactivated. Since new users often don'T know where the preferences are hidden and there exists no menu shortcut to reach them I'd suggest to expand the header with preferences per default in the default b.blend file.
Exprienced users will have their own b.blend anyway and new users will see immediatly where the prefs are and can customize blender to their likings. Once they are done they can hide the header and press the obligatory CTRL+U.
