Clear location/rotation/scale on a specific axis (in edit mode as well)
Written by Falgor the 20 Nov 08 at 15:52. Category: Tools. New
Especially when working with mirror modifier, it'd be great to be able to quickly set a location of a vertex to zero with a certain axis (usually x) when working with center vertices. This can be done with the n-menu (transform properties) but it requires using the mouse and it's not a single function (not fast, not hotkey, a menu).

Also sometimes you might want to clear the rotation or the scale on a certain axis only.

In edit mode it'd work in the object's local co-ordinates, I believe (rotation and scale are probably unusable, unless you count face normals, and that's only for the rotation angle of a face).

It'd work like this:

press alt+g
-->
menu item 1: clear location
menu item 2. clear loc X (would be toggled with XKey)
menu item 3. clear loc Y (would be toggled with YKey)
menu item 4. clear loc Z (would be toggled with ZKey)

Same with rotation and scale.

Edit mode > wmenu > remove doubles, set limit (distance)
Written by Falgor the 5 Nov 08 at 15:07. Category: Tools. New
Not sure how often you guys use remove doubles. I'd use it much more often if I could change the remove doubles limit when I use it from the W-menu. It's VERY unpractical to always change it from the edit buttons, and also slow. So, I suggest the following: When using remove doubles via W-menu, you would also get to set the value while doing it.

WKey > remome doubles > limit [value] OK (click)

Just like in subdivide-multi. The mouse is automatically upon the OK button, so if don't wanna change the limit, you just click. A preview of how the mesh is gonna change after the remove doubles function would be nice.

Also the "smooth" function could have a slider with preview or something, so you dont have to smooth 100 times.

Weight painting settings - Blender should remember them.
Written by Falgor the 20 May 08 at 12:44. Category: Tools. New
When I rig and paint weights with X-mirror mode, save and exit blender, then re-open the file, the X-mirror mode is disabled. If I don't remember to always enable the X-mirror, I might start painting on only the left or right weight group when I should be painting on both of them with the X-mirror.

So, I'd just like Blender to remember the weight paint settings, if there's no way to "mirror" the weights to the .L or .R weight group afterwards. And even if I could do that it'd be very useful for Blender to remember the settings.
