There would be a need for a toggle button.


I suggest the button be in the edit menu with 'Mesh Tools 1.'

although not wsplained really well, this seems as something usefull for designers/architects?

When I model something I try to do it at the center of the grid, so it is easier to see where I am at. This way I can model stuff anywhere and have full visual understanding! lol. To me it seems logical to have a grid for both.

I am not sure if I would even use a local grid, as I model every object in it's own blender file or building an organized library sake

also important if you scale something in object mode, because your object could be the size of the grid and be 0.789 blender units long, the in that case the grid wouldn't work at all.
