Description
It would be nice to be able to save particle settings, such as for hair, and settings for cloth, as custom presets stored with Blender.

Could work with subsurface scattering too

Should be added to the append menu. (shift+F1)

In 2.46, or any recent blender build, this should already be possible.

@ amoose

no, not in the append menu. custom presets should be saved with the presets that come with Blender, or into a user list or folder that load with Blender. appending is time consuming.

This would be very handy, especially for the particle system.

I think it would also be great to have presets for how to render objects, what kind of light, AO, AA, SSS etc.

Let's say I've modelled a cube and want to see a quick render, then a render with as high quality as possible, then a quick render again.

Presets could make this quick and easy instead of having to go through all the options every time.
