Description
a bridge tool which automatically can connect two selected groups of edges or polygons would be great.

here is an example: http://www.luxology.com/training/video.aspx?id=36

There is a basic bridge tool already available as far as I know it is implemented with a python script. In 2.45 it is under the mesh scripts menu and in 2.46 it is in the F button to make faces in edit mode... but it would be nice to have some of the features such as twist and dynamic loop cuts on the bridge section.

oh! maybe this f menu entry should get renamed. i had no idea what this new 2.46 feature means. :) it works fine. yes, there could be some more features like number of segments, twist, linear or curve interpolation, tension,... but the most important functionality already is there. great!

Uhm, as this is already available in various forms there should probably a way of flagging ideas as "implemented". Now that I think about it, I'll open this as yet another idea!

since so many people voted for this i guess others also didn't know about it. there maybe really should be a more descriptive name than "skin faces/edge-loops"?

yes, a "implemented" flag would be useful.

well there's "implemented" and there's implemented in an usefull and quick obvious and logical way ;-)

I agree on the implementation, it should be fully adopted and not just a mesh mod script. (ctrl+E > bridge selection)

"not just a mesh mod script. (ctrl+E > bridge selection)"
can you explain? - select 2 faces, then the Fkey, skin faces/edge-loops.
it could be called "bridge faces/edge-loops" too.

yes, "bridge" would be better than "skin". i think "skinning" in 3d software usually means something regarding bone weights or so.

and of course the featues like in modo (number of segments, twist, linear or curve interpolation, tension,...) would be nice too in case some developer enjoys working on such things. :)

i do not see how this is "ALready Done!"

actually i don't see how Blender has even come close...?

"already done"... where?
I'm downloading latest builds from graphicall but I don't see any bridge tool.
